Who is your intellectual hero? Nora Ephron, Nancy Meyers, Tina Fey and Mindy Kaling. They’re funny, realistic people I’d love to have dinner with.

How do you get Washington insiders to put down their guard and stop talking politics? It’s hard, but if you look for something to connect with them on, may it be a charitable cause, place you were born, or television show, you realize we’re all just people.
What’s your favorite interview to date? My very first celebrity one. . . it was completely unexpected. Reese Witherspoon at an AVON breakfast. She was so sick with a cold but completely sweet and genuine. She reminded me a lot of the movie characters she plays.
